Let’s start June over, shall we?

Monday, June 16th, 2008

Okay, June is usually a nice month, if a bit hot and humid sometimes, but otherwise okay. This year, my brother and I were talking - he and his coworkers decided to cancel June, as they had two coworkers die by the time the month was ten days along … Since I last wrote, I had one friend die (ge 58, breast cancer), and my cousin’s 22-year-old daughter die, and I have had enough of funerals and such. I say we just restart June now. I was so lucky in that, though I was unable to attend the BEA (Book Expo America) this year, a friend who did attend mailed me a whole box of books! I got that on Saturday, and one of the first things I spotted was a new Neil Gaiman book - whee! It’s called The Graveyard Book, and so far, is really very good! But I am a fan of his stuff, so that’s no surprise. I’ll give you a full review of it when I finish, okay?

June Begins Inauspiciously

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

Just a quick note, I will get back to reviewing books soon. Our beloved bunny, Miss Hoppy, died May 24th, of old age, she was 11 years old. Then, this Sunday, June 1st, my pocketbook was stolen from the choir room during church. Sigh. So things have been a little distracted/off-kilter lately. I apologize. But I have been reading, and will recommence reviewing tomorrow.
