Karen meets Ray Bradbury
Yes, that's me, and that is Ray Bradbury with me!
I got to meet him at the Book Expo America
in Los Angeles and it was such fun!
Welcome to KarenWatts.com! On this site, I aim to share with everyone some of the bounty of my life. Am I wealthy? No. But am I rich? Yes, in ways that count to me.

I am richly blessed with love. I am one of the few people I know my age who grew up with both parents still married - to each other, and who gets along with my siblings, and our extended family. My mom died in 1999 of Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS), but the rest of us are still around, and if you poke through this site enough, you may meet some of 'em.

I am fortunate to have a husband I love, and we had a sweet little brown rabbit, Miss Hoppy, our much-loved "house bunny." That means she was litterbox trained and hopped around the house freely. She's well known to the community our family of pet websites, PetoftheDay.com, CatoftheDay.com, and DogoftheDay.com. The community has grown around our bulletin board, Pet Talk at PetoftheDay.com. I have a church I love, friends I am glad to know, and a little old home on a little old friendly street in a Boston suburb. In May, the whole yard smells of lilacs - which is heavenly. The lilacs, both purple and white, came with the place, and they thrive on neglect, so survived quite well. Right now, in July, we get a whole lot of Queen Anne's lace, and daylilies blossoming - the orange ones that came with the place are double-petaled, which is cool. The fall this year we had a bounty of lovely delicate lavendar New England Asters, but now that November has arrived, the autumn is well underway, and I leaf-vac the yard every couple days. But it smells wonderful, and we even have wild turkeys that wander through, as well as tamer human children from the neighborhood.

And I am blessed with books. I'll be adding more reviews as days go by.

And, so as not to lose this for people who have linked to it, a note that protests CAN work, and the little guy can make a difference: Woof and Co. Opens in Massachusetts Not long after that day, and a few subsequent protests, they closed that store, and others, and pulled out of Massachusetts entirely.
